October 2009

We have been pretty busy this month. Football has occupied every Saturday. Thankfully, Carter likes watching it with her Daddy. We (Carter ) got her 6 month shots. She is sitting (basically) on her own, eating baby food twice a day, and sleeping almost 12 hours each night. So much has changed in the last few months. It's amazing! Luke and I think that 6 months may be the perfect age - she is fun to hang out with, sleeps great, and isn't mobile!! What's not to like?

Hanging out, watching the Vols with Daddy - even though I am wearing pink.

Carter loves to look out the big front window in the living room

in one of her Halloween outfits that Luke thinks looks like it came from a yard sale?? It didn't but anyway...

Ready for the Chili Fest in downtown Tupelo. We had a great time. We have figured out that Carter does much better on nights when we are out doing something (or not at home). Humm... a sign of things to come?

Carter with George at Chili Fest. They really did enjoy it - even though you can't tell by the look on their faces.

Saturdays with Daddy

give me a kiss! I can't believe that her eyes are still very blue.

Carter in her "jumping thing" - whatever you call it - she loves it despite the look on her face...

Carter at 6 months!!! This was taken before heading to Mrs. Jackie's for the day. She looks like her Cousin Sam in this picture.

Carter's Sip and See

Carter had a Sip and See at Mom's house several weeks (over a month) ago. It was so much fun to see everyone. The food was great thanks to Mom and Kathy, and the flowers were beautiful. Carter was on her best behavior which was also nice.
Carter with Nonna - she really enjoyed her party! Can't you tell?

Oxford Trip

We took a trip to Oxford for Luke's birthday, and had lunch with Kathy and Roy at City Grocery. The weather was great for late August, and we had a good time and good food.

First Cereal

We gave Carter her first taste of rice cereal from a spoon (she's been getting it in a bottle for a couple of weeks). I must say, it was pretty entertaining. She thought it was funny as well! The video is not great because we are laughing so hard.

You're my blue sky. You're my sunny day!

We are back home now. Time to get back in to a routine. We get 3 month pictures made this week - better late than never!

The Beach

We went down to Ft. Morgan with my family for a few days after the Delta. It was good to go on a little vacation. It was the Bug's first beach experience, and she did beautifully! She slept all night, every night, and acted like a little angel most of the time. She even shopped at the outlet mall with her Nonna for hours with no complaining. She acts better than her mother...

Not sure what to think about all the heat and wind

The Delta

Luke's sweet grandmother - Rick Rick - passed away last week. We love her, and she will be missed! I am so glad that she got to meet Carter, and I know that she loved her. We headed to the Delta to say goodbye and be with family for a couple of days. On a lighter note, what is with the mosquitoes in the Delta? I have to hand it to you folks who live there - they put our NE Mississippi mosquitoes to shame, and I do not know how you stand it!!! I applied Off constantly while we were there - even in the car and inside. Sheesh...
the Bug ready to hit the road again.
Second stop - David's in Shelby (first stop was in Oxford at Big Bad Breakfast) - for a great hamburger and a RC Cola with some of the family.

Third stop - Holiday Inn in Cleveland - the Bug let us know that she can now get herself out of her carrier... She was pretty proud of herself.

Ready for her mid-afternoon snack
